Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is not something you want to miss! It’s an additional cost when visiting Walt Disney World® but if you are considering skipping out on this event for that reason, I highly encourage you to reconsider as it is worth the additional cost.
Perhaps, you are already aware of the added cost but are unsure as to whether or not it will be worth your time, due to the fact your kid has allergies or perhaps your child is on a special diet. If this is the case then you should know that Disney® does a fantastic job at ensuring that all children receive the magic treatment and that magic does not stop when it comes to allergies. In fact, Disney® goes above and beyond when it comes to treating those with special dietary needs.
So, what’s the special treatment that makes the experience so magical?
There are numerous locations throughout the Magic Kingdom® that are set up for Trick or Treating. Let the kids dress up, if I could do it all over again the entire family would have been dressed up! As you and your children enter the Magic Kingdom® you’ll see locations set up where Cast Members are handing out bags specifically for Trick or Treating, let them know that you need an allergy bag. The bag that you are handed will be teal to represent food allergies. As you walk throughout the Magic Kingdom®, look for locations to collect candy or use the maps specifically for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. As you approach Disney® Cast Members they will see the teal colored bag and will hand you blue tokens in place of Candy.
Before the night is up, be sure to visit Town Square Theater located towards the main entrance, there will be a sign on the walk way letting you know that the location is an allergy friendly site. Once inside the building, there is a desk to the left. There you will find Cast Members ready to assist you with redeeming your tokens for allergy friendly candies. They will hand you a lamented sheet and ask you to identify any allergies that you might have, the list is very extensive.
My son only has to be on a gluten free diet so he was able to enjoy all of the snacks that they had available to him. Sadly, I did not get pictures of all the items inside the teal bag. However, they were delicious. Since we went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party® on our first night of the trip we were able to enjoy the snacks the entire week long and still had cookies to bring home. Each guest needing the allergy friendly experience is handed a full box of cookies since the cookies are not individuals wrapped, of course this is only while supplies last. Inside the teal bag were items such as rice milk chocolate candy bars (I’ve never had a candy bar so delicious), organic gummy worms, organic jelly beans. On the Go In MC thought to get pictures of all items Disney® has available to their guest seeking allergy friendly snacks. You can find those pictures here.
