Are you looking for a fun alternative to Friday Night Pizza Night? This pizza pasta recipe is a fun way for the kids to still feel like they are eating pizza. Pair this mouth watering pasta with a side salad and some breadsticks! Do you want to know what the best part of making this recipe is? It’s prepared the night before! So you’ll get to come home from a busy day at work and relax the moment you walk in the door!
Making The Pizza Pasta
Boil your family’s favorite noodle. For my own family we prefer the spiral. To help keep this a fun dish for the kids I would recommend using fun shapes such as bow ties, spirals, or even pin wheels! Allow your pasta to cook and drain. Place it in a large bowl and then toss with either ©Kraft Sun Dried Tomato dressing or ©Kraft Roasted Red Pepper, depending on your family’s taste preference. Place the marinated pasta into a gallon sized bag and place in the refrigerator to cool down completely. For best results, the pasta should be cold when serving.
Combining The Ingredients
Combine the following ingredients together and add into the pasta right before serving. Dice up one bell pepper. If you have picky eaters I would suggest a red colored bell pepper as they are more likely to eat it. Two cups of mozzarella cheese. For added fun we often cut mozzarella sticks up into circle shaped chunks for the kids, similar to the same shape and size of the mini pepperonis that we use. And of course what is a pizza without the pepperonis. We use one bag of the mini pepperonis by Hormel. You can use the regular size although I would recommend cutting them in half for easier eating.
Helping Picky Kids
My own kids don’t like trying new foods but I have found that if I can take flavors and foods that they are already familiar with and add them to other foods that are a little less familiar that they are more likely to eat them. If I were to serve that same food on it’s own, whether it’s a new salad dressing or bell peppers they would find it scary and not even want to try it. However, if you turn those unfamiliar foods into a “pizza” dish, they will devour it!
